Phantom Stranger [AW]

Rayne was glad she didn't miss her target but that didn't mean that Silas didn't have the upper hand either. While she barely left a scratch on him, Rayne was more concerned about the spell he seemed to be casting. She was engulfed in shadows it seemed, and suddenly, she felt fearful of what may have come to pass. Of course, it was never what she wanted.

The nightmare was so true to itself...A depiction of the fact that Rayne had suffered the loss of her beloved to a wraith. Her fear? Not being able to save him, and the wraith coming after her too. Rayne, panicked as she was, tried to shake herself from the spell.

It was shamelessly delicious to see her squirm, even momentarily, under his spell. The shadows enveloped her crown, covering her eyes, ears, mouth, all of the main senses to deliver their cursed nightmare--alas the clever girl broke free. With a wry smirk the fiend snorts lightly out through his nostrils. He will have that necklace. If he offers it to Fenris perhaps he can find a way to get the answers he so desperately hunts. Completely silent now the Dark wolf focuses his energy on the physical and lowers his head, wings arched to dive bomb Rayne and headbutt her with those wicked horns atop the brute's head.

Rayne successfully escapes Silas' Nightmare Spell. During Silas' dive he experiences a burst of wind that strains the accuracy of his attack and grazes Rayne.

Rayne shook for a moment from the fears she had just experienced. It was in that time that she was vulnerable and a horn grazed her shoulder before she could react. She snarled at the Male and leaped to the side, ignoring the pain the best she could as she whipped her tail at the dark Male, barking at him as she did so. "What do you want?" She snapped at him as her water whip swishes into action.

Now hellbent the fiend bares his fangs from the repercussions of the headbutt, flinching from the smarting land of the bitch's water whip although he manages to lunge sideways, flaring his wings out to drift off to one side. Silas hones in on the lady again with his hackles bristling at her question. He's beyond words at this point now with the Hell Hound and Wraith in him bloodthirsty. Again he goes for a physical attack and pivots on his hind legs to reel about, throwing himself at Lady Gray with his wings open and jaws seeking her shoulder or side...

Rayne tried to dodge his next attack, but silas was quicker. The bite to her shoulder made the girl yelp in surprise when she had expected another Shadow attack. She retaliated, snapping her head around, screaming as she aimed for the males open opportunity to tear at his leg.

As expected the feisty Spring wolf retaliates! Silas utters a deep laugh, eyes wide in ecstasy and thrill as he twists his head, wings suddenly buffeting the air in an attempt to dodge Rayne's attack and put some distance between them...

Both wolves missed their target due to fatigue cause by their injuries.

Rayne missed, her jaws snapping on air when she felt pain flow through her body. The shadowed wolf was strong. She wondered who would give first. Him or her? She limped away from the Male as he flapped his wings at her. The she wolf snarled at him, hackles raised, head low. "Seriously, what's your problem?" She demanded.

He's nearly dizzy from the ire bubbling within him. Everything he's feeling he pins it on Rayne, glaring at her and showing his teeth with the fires of Hell flashing in his pupils, blaming every ounce of unwelcome emotion on her. When she speaks it snaps him out of his Hellish blaze which takes the wind out of his sails but does little in the way of making the Shadow brute wish to linger much longer. He's shown too much emotion and he became a Hellion for it. Not wanting to lose too much more health or stamina to this wily Water wolf, he merely chuckles at the stormy lady before snapping his wings open, climbing the air to soar away from the Spring pack's territory.

The lady waited for an answer, but it seemed none would come from the brute. Rayne still felt the rage and insult the brute had risen within her. She felt she would lose her self worthy if she didn't set the record straight. No matter the details, she would still want to know what the brutes reason for being there in the first place was. She was tired from their skirmish and nearly considered forgetting about the Male and going home, but pride and devotion to keeping her lands safe from this thief kept her where she was, panting and glaring back at the Male just as he did her.

She opened her mouth to speak, but before she could make words, meaning to demand an explanation again, he opened his wings and took to the air, gone. Rayne growled in frustration, but what could she do now? She was weakened from the fight and wouldn't be able to chase the brute. All she could honestly do was hope he wouldn't remain in Spring. She did however, make a vow to give the Male complete hell if she ever saw him again. With that thought, she turned to head toward the border. Despite her injuries, she had a job to do.
