walking a tightrope [AW]
Surprisingly enough, despite the hostility and tensions on the rise both between and within the packs resident to Canin, things had been reasonably quiet.
Perhaps it had something to do with how busy everyone had been, between training and guarding their borders. The number of wolves in and out of her den on a daily basis had decreased drastically either way, and Amaryllis could have even sworn that they might have finally decided to go about their problems without her help. Nonetheless, it was probably only a matter of time before the mass populace got right back into the swing of things and came knocking at her nonexistent door for her to fix it all. They didn’t seem to mind the company of the eccentric Scout quite so much when they needed to find a new place in the territory or wanted a recon mission accomplished apparently. Regardless, she didn’t seem to mind.
In fact, Amaryllis rather enjoyed her duties. She didn’t have a huge respect to being tied down to anyone’s becoming call, but being a Scout certainly stretched her mind and allowed her to spend her free time roaming about and socializing. Sadly, she’d yet to find many excuses for her little hidden trips outside the territory. Sure, it was important to know the other packs lands in case a attack plan needed to be made, but knowing Summer’s land was more important. And even more than that, protecting the border.
Amaryllis withdrew from the undergrowth that she’d been rifling in and spontaneously set off to fulfill her thoughts. She assumed that the other Scouts had already been along the border today, but it never hurt to double check, maybe even triple check during times like these. It had been days since the female had seen her Guardian, perhaps even weeks if she thought about it for long enough. Where had Seagris run off to? It was a question running through every Summer wolf’s mind, but one she was determined to answer.
With a skip in her step and the sun on her back, the red tinted female stroller along the border line as she normally did. Nothin seemed out of the ordinary, but hey, it was still early in the day.

Re: walking a tightrope [AW]
The handsome Maned Wolf hybrid finds himself along the outskirts of the Fall's territory, just at the border dividing their home from the rivalled Summer pack. His long legs pick through the terrain easily, gliding over it all as he lazily trails after a hasty rabbit trying to lose the tall canid. Nothing could get him down. There's a vibrant energy of positivity emanating from him and it's all thanks to his tasty little secret. Nobody will pry it out of him though, his jaws are locked shut on the matter. He only has today to comment on, the here and now is where he must be in order to remain useful. As the gentleman strolls onward he picks up the scent of a female, an aroma which typically catches his attention before a meal does.
Turning towards it he narrows himself even closer to the borderline. Coming out from the foliage he can see clearly over the field at the half that toes Summer's turf. A bright, fiery figure saunters along quite placidly. Not too bad on the eyes, for a Summer wolf. He wonders what color her eyes are...no doubt they can't hold a candle to his Heir's lilac gaze. The she-wolf doesn't seem to be up to anything suspicious at all. No doubt simply doing her duty or perusing the pack territory as the Chaser himself. Besides that with Summer's Guardian missing in action...well. A curious tug nags at him and he pushes forth, ears pricked and not at all bothering to hide his form. There was no use in that once he had broken through the bushes, anyhow.
"A fine day for a stroll don't you think, my lady? Alas, no fine lady should be without escort." he all but croons to the ginger wolf. Her coloration is vivid, not as foxy as his own, yet her orange markings are much sharper in contrast. It blends well with the layering of her pelt which he doesn't hide his eyes from taking in. Even rivals deserve a compliment every once in a while. No sense in kicking a wolf when they're down. He partially wonders if their Guardian went for a stroll one day, alone and just...he ceases thinking about it so such wonders don't read on his face by the time he steps closer to the Summer lady.

"A fine day for a stroll don't you think, my lady? Alas, no fine lady should be without escort."
A deep voice suddenly broke the peace and quiet of the area, and thus, quickly drew Amaryllis's attention. Her ears perked as her neck swiveled to look in the direction of the intrusion, green gaze landing upon a red brute. Huh.. a Fall wolf. It had been so long with the Scout had come across anyone along this borderline, one of the many reasons she rarely took her turn here, but this proved a point that even the most inactive areas still had their hidden secrets.
"A lady should know how to escort herself, don't you think?" She called back out to the male with a coy grin. If he wanted her attention, he would have to follow. She had work to do after all. As Amaryllis's slender paws continued to pull her forward along the borderline, she couldn't help but glance back to see if the male was continuing to follow. She knew her duties came first, but surely there was time to enjoy some company too? And if she chose to do them both, then there was surely no way she could get in trouble. Hah, now and days there was no one to report back to to get her in trouble with anyways. That's why she was stuck spending so much time patrolling the damn borders now, to figure out what was going with this lack of authority over Summer.

Re: walking a tightrope [AW]
He picks up the pace and easily closes the distance between them, yet keeps a respectful distance given the borders, instead trotting adjacent to the green eyed lady. Out here he hasn't detected much prey to go after so he mentally checks it off his list of possible hunting grounds. They change every season or so depending on the foliage and the thriving ecosystems of course. It helps the packs to thrive in turn. Which this Summer wolf has clearly been doing very, very well for herself. The glossy coat highlighted by those bewitching markings are so charming he has to remind himself to toe the line, not cross it to get closer to the appealing scent trail the female leaves behind. Her witty retort earns a grin from the streamlined gentleman as he lopes alongside the tantalizing stranger.
"And clearly, you do! It never hurts to have a second pair of eyes, you know. Not that I can really pay attention to anything other than that emerald gaze of yours and that ravishing coat." he can't help but want to butter her up, perhaps it will make the rival pack wolf less likely to tell him to buzz off anytime soon? Besides that Kyantae is always genuine with his compliments. Best to kill others with kindness, his mother always said. However if the lady is to react negatively to it he will do his best to atone for his sins. It's not good making enemies of their neighbors, even if tension has been high between the packs. "My name is Kyantae, what must I do in order to earn the blessing of your name, my lady?"

Re: walking a tightrope [AW]
The brute's actions confirmed what Amaryllis had hoped she'd come across today. Company and perhaps, some entertainment. It could get lonely out here at the border and anyone to talk to would be enough at this point. Her ears swiveled back at the sound of footsteps following after her, a grin growing at her lips though she refused to look back over her shoulder. She couldn't show this male any sign of interest.
"And clearly, you do! It never hurts to have a second pair of eyes, you know. Not that I can really pay attention to anything other than that emerald gaze of yours and that ravishing coat." Ahh.. typical brute behavior. They think they're all hot shit and come strutting into an area, find the first walking thing in sight, and go after it as they'll never make it to another mating season again. She couldn't help but laugh softly at the thought of how humiliating that must be. "Oh come now, I thought you were different from the rest," Amaryllis said. "Let's skip this whole macho-man gig and pretend you don't happen to do this to every female you come across, okay, bud?" She really didn't enjoy the pointless compliments, in fact they were quite amusing to her, but she hoped this would put an end to them.
With a flick of the tail, she finally allowed her gaze to fall back onto the male, eager to see the reaction to her words. She figured he was used to girls swooning at his use of compliments, but no, not this time. "My name is Kyantae, what must I do in order to earn the blessing of your name, my lady?" So he wanted her name, huh? He should have lead with that... though the 'my lady' was a bit overkill. With a soft huff, Amaryllis abruptly stopped walking and turned to face the male, her body like a wall blocking his path. "Here you go again with the weird talk! Who raised you to speak so odd? My lady? Pft, you must think I'm some elder to find that flattering," She said loudly with a glint of amusement filling her gaze. "Just call me Amaryllis, alright?"
